Making Service Simple: Checking the Temperature Calibration

Helmer Scientific recommends regularly checking the calibration of the displayed temperature reading on all of its temperature controlled products. This helps ensure your products are being stored at the correct temperature. Checking the calibration is a simple step which should be part of your preventative maintenance schedule. To check the calibration simply place an independent calibrated thermometer (NIST certified) with the Helmer display probe, allow the temperature to stabilize, and then compare the independent thermometer to the reading on the display. If the readings match, you are finished. If the reading on the unit display does not match the thermometer, then calibrate the displayed temperature to your independent thermometer.

We have created a short video to walk you through the process of calibrating your device. Select the appropriate video for your model type (i.Series® or Horizon Series™). For additional questions you can reference your product manual or contact our helpful Helmer Technical Service department.
