Helmer, Inc., a leading manufacturer and worldwide distributor of cold-chain storage products, has announced the opening of a new distribution center in The Netherlands. Continued growth over the past few years has facilitated the need for further expansion in the EU region.
The 70,000 square-foot facility is scheduled to begin operation in April, 2011. It will provide for increased levels of product inventory and responsiveness in order to meet the growing demands of the European market. "The additional space in the heart of the EU will enable us to continue to provide the level of service that is foundational to our company expansion in Europe," said Aaron Stout, Global Director of Sales and Marketing.
Despite the current challenging economic environment, sales growth continues for the company. The distribution center is an additional step in the company’s global expansion plans. "The location and capacity of the new distribution facility will allow greater logistical efficiencies for us to accommodate the anticipated increase in European product volumes over the next few years," Stout added.
