Helmer Scientific participated in the 2015 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) 50th Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition in New Orleans, LA, in early December. Members of the Helmer team met with pharmacy professionals to discuss current trends in cold storage and how new regulations are affecting storage needs. ASHP’s vision is “medication use will be optimal, safe, and effective for all people, all of the time.” The Midyear has had a huge historical impact on pharmacy, and it is the marquis event for education and networking to identify new innovations and improvements that will continue to help shape the future of contemporary practice.
ASHP is committed to helping people achieve optimal health outcomes. This is achieved by advocating and supporting the professional practice of pharmacists in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory clinics, and other settings of medication use. It serves its members as their collective voice on issues related to medication use and public health. ASHP advocates help open new doors for pharmacists to use their extensive clinical knowledge to care for their patients. They reach out regularly to the Joint Commission, Congress, and other healthcare organizations to ensure that drug use continues to remain safe and effective.
ASHP members network and share knowledge that helps increase positive health outcomes. ASHP uses its Annual Meeting to share technical abstracts, enhance skills, learn about the latest products and technologies, and recognize Award Winners from multiple areas.
