[**Blue**View](https://blog.helmerinc.com) - Helmer Generosity: Chili Cook-off Benefits Mission to Ukraine # Helmer Generosity: Chili Cook-off Benefits Mission to Ukraine Posted on Feb 28, 2017 by Donna Holpuch ![chili-champ-blog.jpg](https://blog.helmerinc.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Images/Generosity/chili-champ-blog.jpg?width=696&height=310&name=chili-champ-blog.jpg) The sixth annual Helmer Scientific Chili Cook-off was a huge success, surpassing all expectations thanks to our awesome vendors and partners. The chili cook-off is a fund-raising event to support one of the [Helmer Generosity initiatives, Mission to Ukraine](https://blog.helmerinc.com/helmer-generosity-chili-cookoff). This year’s contributions will be used to help build a Rehabilitation Center for children with disabilities in Zhitomar, Ukraine. At this time, the contributions from the chili cook-off have reached over $4,400 and that number continues to grow. Thirty-one chili entries were judged on presentation, aroma, taste, and texture and the Judge’s Choice Grand Champion was awarded to Joel Taylor for his Traditional Chili entry.  Other winners included: Spicy Entry – Dan Etchison, Alternative Entry – Thomas Spry, People’s Choice (Helmer) – Jared Owens, People’s Choice (Partners/Vendors) – Aspen Creek. [Helmer generosity efforts](http://www.helmerinc.com/responsibility/generosity/inspiring-generosity/index) are advanced through partnerships with local and international organizations, active volunteerism, and product donations. For information on how you can get  involved with Mission to Ukraine, please visit the link below.  [![Visit the Mission to Ukraine Website »](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/1862406/77209ca0-0940-49eb-b941-f277d4bf53dd.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/1862406/77209ca0-0940-49eb-b941-f277d4bf53dd) ![Donna Holpuch](https://blog.helmerinc.com/hubfs/Blog/authors/DHolpuch.jpg) ### Written by [Donna Holpuch](https://blog.helmerinc.com/author/donna-holpuch) Donna Holpuch is the sales enablement and programs leader for Life Science Solutions, a business unit of Trane Technologies.
