Helmer Scientific started partnering with Compassion International in 1999 by sponsoring our first child Yetenayet Beheru in Ethiopia. She was 6 years old at that time. Now, in her early twenties, Yetenayet is a successful graduate of the program, equipped and inspired to live fulfilling lives.

Over the years Helmer engagement has grown to supporting 36 children in 24 different countries around the world. Helmer employees drive the effort by building a relationship with their Compassion children and reaching out to them on a regular basis through letters, words of encouragement and gifts.
‘At Compassion we take a committed, long-term approach to fighting child poverty. Our one-to-one Child Sponsorship Program allows you to personally connect with a specific child in need and build a life-changing relationship. The Compassion initiative at Helmer Scientific is a great example of how companies can engage their employees in meaningful ways to make a difference for those who need support,’ says Jeanne Wilkinson, Compassion International’s National Director of Corporate Relations.
