This award recognizes the achievements of the central Indiana community's many outstanding volunteers, nonprofit organizations, and employee volunteer programs, and honors those who have gone above and beyond in their volunteering on behalf of the central Indiana community. The company was nominated by the City of Noblesville for its exceptional work with local and international organizations. In 2014, Helmer employees volunteered more than 1000 hours and raised more than $15,000 to support five local organizations and an orphanage in Ukraine. To assess the effectiveness of its programming, the company has developed a Generosity Assessment Tool that scores both the current state and growth potential of each initiative. "Helmer Scientific takes an active, hands-on role in providing resources and expertise so that aid and justice may be achieved for poor and marginalized people," says Helmer Scientific owner and chairman, David Helmer. "We join in service with many organizations in our community and around the world, using our resources to empower our people to make a difference in the lives of others." Natasha Mazur, Director of Helmer Generosity Initiatives, will be sharing Helmer Scientific best practices in corporate social responsibility and employee engagement during the annual Leadership and Volunteerism Summit, which will include the awards presentation by the United Way of Central Indiana. The event will take place on March 13, 2015, at the Regions Tower, 211 North Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
